1. How do I decide which plan is right for me? Contact us before you buy. We will be happy to consult with you to find the best fit. There are many options and we are happy to discuss with you if a reseller or a store is a good business direction for you.
2. Who do you use as a payment processor? In most cases we use PayPal as our payment processor of choice. PayPal is comfortable with virtual currencies and “game pieces”; other payment processors are not. The bulk of our experience is with PayPal and authorize.net (for the stores/malls).
3. What is the difference in scripting plans and the hosted scripting plans? With the scripting plan you own your script and either install it yourself or have us install it. In either case you are free to take it with you. The hosted scripts are scripts that remain our property.
4. What is the base application for the stores/malls? We use osCommerce as a base of the stores with templates and reporting capabilities added to the open source code. By the fall launch of the store/mall capabilities, over 350 hours of additional code will have been added to the standard osCommerce installation.
5. Are the scripts and stores difficult to maintain? No, but just like any aspect of your business it is time consuming and will require daily attention from you. How much attention will depend on your choices during set up. But you will want to check your transactions regularly to avoid fraud and other problems.
6. How are IMVU credits delivered and is it instant? The credits are delivered via the IMVU gateway. Once the payment has been approved and you reseller page or store has been notified, IMVU is immediately contacted to deliver your customer’s purchase.
7. Are there fees for these transactions? The normal Paypal fee apply, as do the derivation and IMVU fees on products. These systems do not bypass any of the required fees. This are all paid in the same manner as making a purchase from the main IMVU site.
8. Can I sell Name Registrations, and other IMVU passes? Yes, certainly. You will need to contact Clare@imvu.com to purchase tokens for these items. Once you have made your purchases they will appear in your inventory and can be processed in the same manner as credits. This will require specialized coding for your site, so there may be an additional charge.
9. Do I need to inform IMVU that I am now a reseller? Yes, you should alert Nino@imvu.com or Bianca@imvu.com. They are your contacts for the reseller progam.
